GIL SCOTT-HERON, one of the most important figures in Black American musical history, has recently found himself selling women's clothes with 'When You Are Who You Are' featuring on a major UK advert. It is time to remind everyone how good the original - taken from the album 'Pieces Of A Man' - is and give it its first ever release on a 45. It is backed with an alternate version of the title track of his final album for Flying Dutchman, released on vinyl for the very first time.
