SONGS ONE THROUGH EIGHT

Among fans of the alt-county genre, the names Munly Munly, Slim Cessna, Lord Dwight Pentacost and Rebecca Vera have no doubt crossed one's lips over the past twenty years. Alongside of their work in Slim Cessna's Auto Club, and via labels as disparate as Alternative Tentacles and Pesanta Urfolk, this debut album is a parallel collaboration collectively known as DBUK (Denver Broncos UK). With 'Songs One Through Eight', Munly's signature dark, high lonesome country folk and Cessna's Hank Williams II country twang meet in the middle. The quartet's bare-bones sound and unorthodox instrumentation combines traditional American folk with post-punk leanings, with a Southern Gothic sensibilitity that permeates both bands' repertoires.
