Radio is the debut album from LL Cool J, and is Def Jam's very first full-length album release. With the breakthrough popularity of Radio, LL Cool J ?became one of the first hip-hop acts to achieve mainstream success. The album's success also served as a career breakthrough for Rick Rubin, who ?produced the entire record. Radio's release coincided with the growing new school scene and subculture, which marked the beginning of hip-hop's ?golden age.
