Ornament & Crime is the lost sElf album that their fans have been patiently waiting 13 years for. Originally recorded in 2004 with producer Mario C (The Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson), the album was shelved as their label at the time was sold and absorbed. Now, on the heals of recent sElf vinyl reissues like 2015's Gizmodgery and 2014's Subliminal Plastic Motives, Ornament & Crime is finally gettng its long awaited release on two-colored vinyl and CD with all new artwork, lyrics and liner notes. On the same day, we will see a release of Porno, Mint & Grime, the double album companion piece of 20 b-sides and demos from the same era. P,M&G is a double album which will be released on be on two-colored vinyl and CD. ??Self is the project of Matt Mahaffey, a Murfreesboro, TN-based singer/songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist who began writing songs at age four and became a professional drummer at 12. During high school and college he became proficient at home recording, settng up a studio in his basement and recording demos, some of which eventually became part of his debut album, 1995's Subliminal Plastic Motives. The album, an eclectic blend of power pop, hip-hop, and samples, earned Self a devoted following and tour dates with big alternative acts like Garbage, 311, and Cracker.
