After International success as the Queen of Merengue, Olga took on a whole new different project and collaborated with one of the most successful singer-songwriter-producers: MARCO ANTONIO SOLIS. In addition to overseeing the production of the album, Solis also wrote the songs featured on the album. The album was a departure from Olga's merengue sounds and she ventured into the world of Mexican music, and who better to oversee it than Marco Antonio Solis. This collaboration proved to be a huge success, and it would become Olga Tanon's biggest album in sales and radio charts. The album debuted #1 on the Latin album charts and along with it was accompanied with the #1 song BASTA YA. Also, this album presented Olga to a whole new audience as her appeal grew with music listeners of the various Latin genres throughout the U.S. and Latin America. After Basta Ya remained on top of the charts for a few months, more #1 hits followed: Me Subes, Me Bajas, Me Subes and Mi Eterno Amor Secreto.
