Native Son is an American drama film, directed by Rashid Johnson, based upon the famous novel of the same name by Richard Wright. Adapted for the 21st Century, the film tells the story of 20-year-old Bigger Thomas, an African American youth living in utter poverty in a poor area on Chicago's South Side. The score to Native Son was composed by the duo Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, best known for their score to Stranger Things and as members of the electronic band S U R V I V E. With their score to Native Son, Dixon and Stein have again produced a masterclass of electronic music that shifts between eerie dread and encroaching doom to the relentless beats of pursuit and evasion.'
