LOOK CLOSER (VINYL)

Longtime Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings' backing vocalists Saundra Williams and Starr Duncan Low are stepping out into the limelight, and have joined forces to form Saun & Starr. Though they grew up just blocks from one other in the Bronx, it wasn't until the powerhouse duo crossed paths in the 1980s at an open mic night in Harlem that brought the two together musically. Sharing similar tastes, the two became fast friends as they pursued musical careers. After some years apart, they were unexpectedly reunited when both began singing with Miss Sharon Jones in a New York-area wedding band during the 1990s.
Recorded with The Dap-Kings, their highly anticipated debut album 'Look Closer' was produced by Daptone Records' Gabriel Roth and recorded at Daptone Records' House of Soul studio in Brooklyn during 2014. The album features ten original tracks by the duo including the hit title track "Look Closer."
