HUMAN BEINGS

PYYRAMIDS is a new collaboration by OK Go's Tim Nordwind and singer Drea Smith, formerly of He Say She Say. This, their first release, brings strange beats from the dark grotto between the dance floor and the mopey teenage bedroom of the mind. An inveterate home recorder with piles of songs, beats, and sketches at hand, Nordwind first passed along beats that Smith layered vocals over. Only meeting in person months later, the cyber collaboration transformed when Smith visited Nordwind in LA, where they polished off the half-dozen tracks heard here.
