'Howling At All Hours', is the new album by international DIY pop icons The Cannanes, Formed in Sydney in the mid 1980s, they have released ten albums on labels all around the world.
The Cannanes have always done things their own way, Their first two albums 'African Man's Tomato' (1988) and 'A Love Affair With Nature' (1989) were self-released, but the band subsequently became stalwarts of iconic 90s US indie imprints like K Records, Ajax and Feel Good All Over, achieving the distinction of becoming one of the best-known unknown Australian bands internationally.
'Howling At All Hours' is the first new album for over 10 years, but admittedly the band have been distracted by side projects, recording, touring, and various other pursuits, After such a long wait, it's reassuring to discover that 'Howling At All Hours' is as engaging and idiosyncratic as anything the band have ever done.
