GONNA WALK BACK HOME/ROCKIN' AND REELIN'

Good news for vinyl addicts: by popular request from rockabilly fans and collectors, following the success of our By The Bayou series of CDs, we're releasing a batch of 7-inch singles showcasing 1950s dancefloor-fillers from the vaults of J.D. Miller. Of the featured tracks, only Tommy Todd's 'Tag Along' has previously appeared in that format - and that disc is so rare only a handful are known. ??Claylel Rodney Rocket Morgan is another of those figures who remained in the shadows during his brief recording career but rose to iconic status once his rockabilly sides were discovered by European collectors. 'Gonna Walk Back Home' (aka 'Walkin' Home') is designed to make people get up and dance. He gave up his recording career to follow in his father's footsteps as a preacher. The most obscure of the vocalists in this vinyl series, Johnny Bass, steps up to the plate with 'Rockin' And Reelin, a slice of slap-bass rockabilly. It seems he was a hillbilly singer from Oklahoma who came to J.D. Miller to record in that vein, but also laid down a handful of rockabilly sides which never made it to vinyl at the time.
