Bloodshot is proud to welcome acclaimed folk-blues
singer/songwriter Luke Winslow-King back to the label
with Flash-A-Magic.
The new album contines Luke's world-wandering
evolution, from Michigan to New Orleans to Spain,
absorbing and integrating his experiences and
collaborations to create something unique and new.
Flash-A-Magic is co-produced by Tuscan Slide Guitar
Maestro Roberto Luti-a founding member of the
Playing For Change band who has collaborated with
legends such as Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Keith Richards,
Ringo Starr, Dr. John and accumulated over 100
million plays on YouTube. His unorthodox, angular and
evocative slide guitar style is based on Mississippi and
Chicago blues and is infused by soul and African roots
traditions and perfectly compliments Winslow-King's
musical ambitions.
The duo's partnership reaches back more than 15 years
to it's beginnings on the streets of New Orleans, and has
taken them to dozens of countries around the world.
Their approach to rural and hill country blues contains a
certain reverence, a respect, and a bittersweetness not
often heard in the modern day. The new album features
several co-writes and showcases the unique style and
dynamic synergy they have fostered.
