Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. Born in Philadelphia on July 10, 1938, Lee MorganAEs career lasted from the mid-1950s to the early 1970s. Originally interested in the vibraphone, he eventually showed a growing enthusiasm for the trumpet. He began his recording career as a leader in 1956 for the Blue Note label. He would record a total of 25 albums for the company. Morgan joined Art BlakeyAEs Jazz Messengers in 1958, where he further developed his talents as a soloist and composer. Blakey is heard along with Morgan in Expoobident, presented here, which features a strong hard bop quintet that also includes Eddie Higgins on piano, Art Davis on bass, and Clifford Jordan on tenor saxophone.
