Birthmarks is the third studio album by Piet Goddaers alter ego Ozark Henry and marked a turning point in his career. His previous work was experimental and avant-garde. The songs on Birthmarks, all produced and arranged by Piet, sound a bit more mainstream and radio-friendly. However, the album includes some classical influences like string and horn-arrangements. The second single of the album, "Sweet Instigator", became a commercial success. His shows in Brussels were sold out instantly and he performed at Pinkpop and Rock Werchter. Ozark Henry received three Zamu Award nominations and Birthmarks reached the Golden Status. For the first time since it's original release in 2001, Birthmarks is now available on vinyl.'
